Team Cycling for Chaffey

Chaffey's Class of '60 and other Chaffey alumni working with the CHS Alumni Association have assembled Team Cycling for Chaffey.  It consists of six Chaffey grads, all former Tiger athletes, and two honorary alumni.  Their average age is 65.

Pete Penseyres, '61 and his brother Jim, '66, coach and train the cyclists.  Pete set the current record for a RAAM solo crossing when he won the race in 1986 with an average speed of 15.40 mph.  Jim has finished RAAM three times.  Jim was also a member of the team that set the current record for a human powered vehicle crossing despite the partial loss of his left leg during the Vietnam War.  Both have been inducted into the Ultra Marathon Cycling Hall of Fame.

The riders have trained long and hard to make the Chaffey community proud of their performance and hope that you will be inspired to become part of this worthwhile cause.  Ride with them in spirit as they carry Chaffey's Orange and Black all across America!
